Brandon, you can purchase your own router, but we recommend that you use the one we provide. There is no additional charge for the router that is provided. The reason we encourage you to use a Gibson Connect device is so that if there are issues with your service, we can take a look at the device and see what is going on with it; if it is your own device, we will not be able to see as far into problems if it is not the network and the router itself has an issue. What type of fiber optic connection will we have at our home? Fiber to the Curb (FTTC) connection, Fiber to the Node FTTN connection, or a Fiber to the Home (FTTH) connection?

Thanks for responding Sarah. Can we purchase our own router or have to go with the one provided? Also, the one provided will it need to be rented or bought?
