Hello, Michael. I apologize for the confusion. I failed to include “Humboldt” in your address when searching. Those who live on Gibson Wells Brazil Road live within WK&T’s service territory, making them ineligible. You are actually in the Trenton South zone. It has already met its goal. Congratulations! Next, our board will vote to move forward with Phase II of the buildout. At that time, we will be able to provide expected timelines for the zones included.

Hello, Edward. Gadsden is so very close, and we believe that it will reach its goal soon. Please continue to encourage those in your zone to register.

Jenni, I saw your response to my question. I am most definitely in your area. We are Trenton North not KY. So can we find out the status for the Trenton North area? We are on Humboldt Gibson Wells Rd Humboldt TN 38343.

With just 30 more people needing to sign up in Gadsden. Do you think we will get the service? It is desperately needed in our area. We are one mile from the Charter Tower. Please assist us if you can. We are dying over here with Direct.

Hello, Roger. The goal percentages and numbers are updated automatically. We show that 11 members have registered in your zone since January 1, 2019. We genuinely appreciate your support of this program and thank you for encouraging registrations.

Good morning, Amen. We are sorry that we can't serve you, but we must abide by the law.

Hello, Michael. Unfortunately, state law will not allow us to serve our members who are in West Kentucky and Tennessee Telecommunications Cooperative's (WK&T) service area, and your address falls within their zone. Please still register your interest by completing the form at right. Doing so will not make you eligible for service or obligate you to service, but it will allow us to keep you informed should you become eligible. If you are a Gibson EMC member who is not served by WK&T, and you believe you should be eligible for Gibson Connect service, please call us toll-free at 1-844-859-6767 or call/stop by your local Gibson EMC member service center. We appreciate your interest.

How often do you update the % to goal and # more needed for each zone? We are pushing for registrations in our area and believe we are getting new registrations, but our numbers are not updating.

Why is the state protecting a area?

Hello, Robert. We anticipate the grant awards to be announced by Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development around mid-March.

Hello, Keviin. Great questions. Our goal is to provide broadband to all of our eligible members over time as we have a universal service commitment. Gibson EMC members except those within the West Kentucky and Tennessee Telecommunications Cooperative area (in Tennessee) are eligible for Gibson Connect services. We set up the zones based on our substations and our communities. We also considered the miles of line within the zone, the members per mile of line, and the connections. We used all of this information to arrive at the participation level we’d need to require for the fiber buildout to be financially feasible.

Is there an update on the status of the broadband grant that was applied for in the Gadsden area? I thought I read that the winner would be announced close to this time. Thanks

You show 200 more to reach the goal for Arlington. Will there come a point where you determine that you won't make the goal and abandon this sector? Are there actually still 200 more subscribers in the Arlington sector?

Hello, Jeremy. Fiber has been installed in your area, so the next step will be splicing it. After it is spliced, we'll call or email (based on the selection you made during registration) you to schedule an in-home installation.

Hi, Misty. Our contractors have completed the aerial engineering design for the Ridgely/Tiptonville/Samburg area. At this point, they also have completed some of the aerial middle-mile fiber to be constructed. Next, our contractors will engineer the fiber splicing design, splice the fiber, run the service drops, and finally do the in-premise installations. It’s still too early to provide details about the timing, but we will keep you posted.

Hello, Jennifer. As you probably know, Trenton North has met its participation goal. This puts it in an excellent position to be included in Phase II of our broadband buildout. Unfortunately, it's too early for us to say when Phase I will be completed and when Phase II could begin. I wish I could be more specific, but we don't want to overpromise and underdeliver. As you may have read, we've had significant delays due to problems with our initial engineering design consultant and with the record-breaking rainfall. We are pushing the project forward as quickly as we can. We will communicate more information as soon as we know more.

Hi, Timothy. Your area is very close to reaching its goal. Gadsden is currently at 84 percent of its goal with only 36 registrations needed! We are still working on Phase I of our build which includes the three zones that first met their goal (Medina, Three Way and Dyer) and the area covered by a broadband grant (Tiptonville, Ridgely and Samburg). We will not begin building Phase II until we complete Phase I. Once your zone reaches its goal and has been assigned a phase, we will contact you with more information. We appreciate your support and look forward to serving you!

Ms Rita? I don't know if you are the ONLY Campaign Owner for my area, but I just hope SOON we do get connected. I being out "LAST ON A LINE", out of GIBSON County into CROCKETT County... had VERY LIMITED INTERNET service..SATELLITE ONLY. I'm sorry to "seem" to KEEP asking, BUT.. WOW.. I really am BELIEVING, GIBSON CONNECT will be a GODSEND. "Right"? I see we HAVE been wetter than average.. for some "CLIMATE CHANGE (OXYMORON) OR GLOBAL COOLING-WARMING"... etc. etc. etc. I UNDERSTAND the grounds out here ARE way too sift.... I'm just EQUALLY EXCITED as well as disappointed waiting. THANK YOU.

Hello, Terry. As I just mentioned in a previous reply, it is difficult to determine when we'll be able to provide service, especially considering the wet ground. We should, weather permitting, be able to connect members on Blackmon Rd. within a month.
