Hi, Jon. We understand that our members need and want reliable high-speed internet. Unfortunately, building across a 12-county area can be quite time intensive, but we are doing our best to connect as many members as possible as quickly as we can. The good news is that our ultimate goal is to serve you and all of our eligible members who desire service.

My house is right on the edge of a zone. I’m signed up and registered and the buildout stops less than 100 yards from my house. Obion is only 51% approved after all this time and I’m stuck with less than 100 yards from having it all because my house is just barely across the “zone”. I hope my neighbors Enjoy their new internet. Must be nice

Hi, Maxwell. We completely understand your desire for and need to be connected quickly. However, we still have some work to do in the Tiptonville zone of Phase I before we can move these resources to complete work on the Trenton South zone of Phase II.
We are doing some main line construction and hanging some drops in your area, but there are several more steps in the build process that must be completed before we can connect you. Please continue to be patient. We will call you when your home is ready for installation. We're looking forward to getting you this service.

Hi, Keely. I believe that when the fiber is run to your home you also should be able to get fiber run to your shop as well. Please call 1-731-562-6003 Monday - Friday between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM and our member service personnel will be able to provide a definitive answer as well as make any necessary notes to your account. We appreciate your support of Gibson Connect!

again we're past the engineering part the service drop is hanging off the pole I'm just waiting for someone to connect it from the pole to my house. most of the houses on Alamo highway near me have the service drop hanging off the pole I'm just curious as to when you're actually going to begin adding internet, your workers seem to think that it is ready now because I've asked them every time they passed the house or when I see them working near the house. We are just ready for internet and to start throwing money at you.
Keely Wade
I was curious on when the lines get ran from the street to my house if I am able to get a drop on my shop building as well? My shop is fully insulated and wired so if I am able to connect my devices in there hardlined with Ethernet cables that would be lovely

Hi, Maxwell. Your address falls within the Trenton South zone. We have begun engineering in this zone, and we expect for construction and service drops to begin either this month or in November. We also expect for splicing work to begin in December or January. For additional information, please read our most current status update at https://www.gibsonconnect.com/broadband-project-update.

Hi, Harris. There are a lot of variables when you buy a TV. New TVs with HDMI ports will work with an Amazon Fire TV Stick, meaning any modern TV (1080P or better) will work. If you want to avoid the need for a separate Fire TV Stick device, you will need a set that uses ANDROID operating system or that has Amazon Fire TV built in. Hope this helps and that you have a good weekend!

Hi, Michael. The Tennessee Broadband Accessibility Act is the legislation that was passed in 2017 that allows electric co-ops to provide retail internet access within their electric service area. You can contact your local state representative to learn more.

Has there been any progress in bringing Fiber to the good people of Trenton, TN (on Trenton L&W)?
I have heard a million times that it is a state law preventing this but when I can see your headquarters and cannot get that Internet, frustrating is a word that can be used. So who do I need to speak with as an American from the state of Tennessee in this area to get this law reversed? Also, what is the specific law that is preventing the good people of Trenton, TN from receiving this Internet?
Thanks. Let's Make This Happen for Trenton, TN.

Hello, Jerry. Unfortunately, we can't provide a timeline. I can, however, give you the steps for building fiber-to-the-home to give you a better idea of the work that has to be done. First, a contractor performs the engineering design work. Then, a contractor inspects for compliance. Next, contractors and employees perform "make ready" work. A Contractor constructs the main fiber distribution lines along our primary electric distribution lines. A contractor will then install service drops from the street/road to the home. Either a contractor or our employee will attach a network interface device to the home and test to be sure fiber is "lit" or functional. Then, a contractor and/or our employees will perform splicing to direct the fiber communication path. Lastly, we'll schedule and perform the in-home installation.
