Hi, Mike. Our crews built the Samburg zone during Phase I of our construction buildout. I have contacted one of our team members and they are checking on your specific address. Depending on the type of construction, overhead or underground, will determine how quickly we can get you connected. We are hopeful that it could be this week! Once we have determined where the address is in the process, we will give you a call. Thank you for your support of Gibson Connect. We look forward to serving you!

Hi, Jennifer. At this time we do not have a specific timeline for each individual area for in-home installations. Because of the excessive rain we have had, we are behind our planned schedule by about a month. We completely understand the need and wish we could provide the access much more quickly, but we are doing the best we can under the current circumstances. Our crews are working where and when they can to get as much done as quickly as possible. We appreciate your support of Gibson Connect and look forward to serving you!

Hi, Michael. We will not do the phone installation at the same time as the internet. The reason for this is because we have to get our members to sign a Letter of Authorization allowing us to port their current phone number into our system. One of our installers will come out for your internet installation, complete it and have you sign the Letter of Authorization to keep the same phone number that you currently have. They will bring that signed form back to us, we will get it ported over from your current phone provider, and call to schedule your phone installation within 10-15 business days. Through this process we are trying to ensure that members have access to their home phone at all times. If we have them sign prior to the internet installation and try to install both at the same time, if there was an issue arise with the fiber at the time of installation, the member could potentially be without phone and internet. We don't want to put members in a situation like this, so we do the two-step installation process for phone lines. Thank you for your questions. If there is anything else that we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to ask. We appreciate your support of Gibson Connect!

Hi, Michael. We have splicers that are currently in this area, and working to get the splicing done on homes that are ready. Barring any unforeseen complications, they expect to see splicing completed by the end of the week. Once our Gibson Connect team receives information that the fiber is ready to be hooked up, one of our team members will be in touch with you to schedule your in-home installation. If all goes well, we should be reaching out to you within 7-10 business days. Thank you for your support of Gibson Connect. We look forward to serving you!

We also signed up for the telephone service as well. Will that be done at the same time or will that be another time altogether?

Thanks again.

Hi, Jimmy. Thank you for your interest in Gibson Connect internet service. Regarding the ReConnect funds, they are not in the form of a grant. Rather, they are low-interest loan funds from the USDA to help us more affordably provide broadband access to certain areas. We plan to ultimately provide high-speed, fiber-based internet service to all of our eligible members. The process we are using puts our members in control of the order of our buildout. We’re asking members to indicate their support by registering at join.gibsonconnect.com. There is a $20 registration fee which is credited back to the member when his/her service is connected. We are working diligently to provide this essential service and we look forward to serving you and our other members in Fulton County.

It's not right to me that Gibson Connect gets a 32 million grant to help rural areas but you still have to have hundreds or thousands of people pay up front to maybe someday get internet or it's not gonna happen ever . If you build it people will get it when it's available and easy . My zone in Fulton county needs 156 more people to sign up . That might never happen .

Hi, Allonah. Yes, we have been connecting members in the Humboldt/Gibson zone as they are ready. Unfortunately, your address has not been spliced yet, which is why you have not yet received a phone call. Please know that we have several crews working diligently to have members ready for connections as soon as they can. The steady rains and saturated ground conditions have led to crews having to work where they can until the weather clears some. We understand that members are anxious to receive their service, and we are working to get it to them. Please continue to be patient with us as we work toward getting you connected. We will be in contact as soon as your home is ready for installation. Thank you for your support of Gibson Connect!

Hi, Dewayne. Thank you for your review! We are pleased to hear that you are enjoying your service and had a pleasant installation experience. Thank you for your support of Gibson Connect; we are glad to be serving you!

Hi, Lynn. The reason there are a couple of remaining connections to be done here is due to the road being serviced with two different fiber lines. The fiber that runs to connect your end of the road has been placed, and we have crews actively working to get it spliced and ready for install as soon as possible. If you have any additional questions, you can call us at 731.562.6000 and we will be happy to assist you. Thank you for your support of Gibson Connect!

Hi, Jason. Yes, the ReConnect loan funds will help us to build the entire fiber network and we're into year two of what we expect to be a five-year buildout. However, we still encourage Woodland Mills members to sign up and work to meet your participation goal. Our members continue to drive the order of our buildout and the Woodland Mills zones is getting close to meeting its goal. We know you need this important service and we're working hard to get it to you.

My residence is zoned for the Woodland Mills project however there is not any type of DSL internet available. The only options we have are satellite internet from Ken-Tenn Wireless or Hughes Net. Charter services the Woodland Mills area, but it is not available to us. Is it possible that the ReConnect loan will allow our area to have services before our goal is reached?
Linda Shumate
Just to let you know Jason that we have Charter here in Woodland Mills and I will definately be switching if we can reach our goal! I hope to let more people right in in Woodland realize that Gibson Connect will be better.

Hi, Michael. We did anticipate to begin connecting members in the Trenton South zone in March, which we are in the process of doing. For this road specifically, however, there is a section remaining that we cannot access to finish the construction on until the ground dries some. Progress at this time is largely dependent on the weather conditions, and the heavy rains have hindered certain places from being completed as quickly as we anticipated. Please continue to be patient as we work through the conditions we are given, and we will work to be in this area as quickly as we can. Thank you for your support of Gibson Connect!

Sarah Williams
Hi, Allonah. Unfortunately, we cannot give you a firm answer on that at this time. The current weather conditions and saturated grounds are preventing us from being able run underground service drops in many areas. Crews are continuing to work as much as they can on other parts of the buildout, and running underground drops when permissible. The rain has had a large impact on what we can do right now, but we are continuing to work as quickly as possible.

Hi, David. Funds from the ReConnect loan will be used to build parts of the Troy zone that are considered to have very limited access. The eligibility of areas in which we can utilize ReConnect loan funds comes from information that was provided from FCC map data. As the rules for the program were written, very limited access means areas that have connection speeds that are less than 10Mbps down and 1Mbps up. The areas are grouped according to US Census Blocks, which differ in both size and location. Gibson will use ReConnect loan funds to build the fiber network in eligible parts of the Troy zone, and we will build the other areas of the zone at the same time using other funding. In short, the Troy Zone will be constructed as one large project using multiple funding sources.
