Can you tell me if my address is currently provided your internet service and if not how long it will be before we can expect our area to receive it? Thank you
Jenni RachelsCampaign Owner
Hi, Keely. Unfortunately, I can't offer a timeline, but I can tell you that the crews performing those functions are currently working in the Tiptonville, Samburg and Ridgely areas. They will return to your area once Phase I work is complete. We'll give you a call to schedule your in-home installation once your home has been readied for service. We appreciate your patience and hope that you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Hello, Keely. Your construction has already been completed, and you are currently waiting on splicing and a network interface device (NID) to be placed on the side of your home.

Is there a way you can look up my address and tell me what step they are on? I have cables by the road and I believe it was also ran up to my house. Just trying to get an idea on where we are at

Hi, Warren. Your home was added to our scheduling list yesterday, so you should receive a call today to schedule your in-home installation.

Hello, Griffin. The way in which we install fiber service in apartment complexes depends on the construction of the building. We confer with the apartment complex owner or manager to determine the least disruptive way of installing service to the interested members.

Hello, Tim. As you probably know, Gadsden will be included in Phase II of our buildout. We expect to see construction of main fiber lines and service drops begin in February or March and splicing to follow in April or May. We’ll be in contact with you via email as progress begins in your area.
Warren Douglas
My home is ready for service, pulled technician out of front yard that got stuck two weeks ago, my neighbor about two hundred feet from me had theirs hooked up last week, have you forgotten about me?
Jenni RachelsCampaign Owner
My apologies, Michael. We have begun engineering in the Trenton South zone. We expect construction and service drops to begin this month and splicing to follow in December or January. Other work in the “Steps to Buildout” will be completed as resources become available. 1. We begin with contractors doing the engineering design. 2. Once the design is completed, the contractor builds the primary fiber lines along our primary electric lines. 3. Next, the contractor will begin the splicing process to direct the primary fiber communication path back to the substation. 4. During this time, service drops from the street/road to the home will be constructed. 5. The contractor or a Gibson Connect employee will then perform additional splicing to direct the fiber communication path to the home, attach a network interface device (NID) to the home and test it to ensure the fiber is ready for installation. 6. Once it tests ready, we will call you to schedule your in-home installation. Again, I'm sorry for the confusion and appreciate your interest.

Michael and Allonah, you are both in the Humboldt/Gibson zone. There are several steps that will still need to happen before you are connected. To give you an idea, we have begun main fiber line construction and service drops in your zone. We also have begun splicing in the southern parts of the Humboldt/Gibson Zone, and we will continue moving northward. Other work in the “Steps to Buildout” (below) also will be completed as resources become available.
(If your electric service is overhead, your fiber service also will be overhead. If your electric service is underground, your fiber service also will be underground.)
5. The contractor or a Gibson Connect employee will then perform additional splicing to direct the fiber communication path to the home, attach a network interface device (NID) to the home and test it to ensure the fiber is ready for installation.
6. Once it tests ready, we will call you to schedule your in-home installation.
Thank you both for your interest.

I see lines curled up around a pole next to our house. Does that mean they will be calling to schedule a hook up time soon? We are SOOOO excited.
Thanks

Hi, Aaron. Troy is at 74% if its goal with 139 registrations needed. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to register to move your zone closer to meeting its participation level. You can check the status of all of our zones by clicking the "Zones" tab above. We appreciate your interest!

Hello, Misty. There is a lot of work currently going on in Tiptonville. We have aerial service wire crews, buried service wire crews and splicing crews working there now. Unfortunately, I cannot provide you a time frame, but we will have a Gibson Connect representative will call you to schedule an in-home installation once your home has been readied for service.
Jenni RachelsCampaign Owner
Hello, David. Great questions. First, congratulations on your zone reaching its goal! As you may know, Gibson Connect is currently working on Phases I and II. They consist of the zones that first met their participation goals and the zones that have been awarded broadband grants. Gibson Connect will announce a third phase when it nears the completion of zones in Phase I and Phase II. When your zone has been assigned to a phase, we will send occasional progress updates to the email address that you used during registration. Also, we will provide an ONT that has a built-in router. It is great at processing the subscription speeds. If you subscribe to 250 Mbps and later decide to upgrade to 1 Gbps, there will be no additional fees to make that switch.
David Chaffin
Hello, all. Rutherford has reached it's goal and I had some questions ahead of installation. The first obvious one is an estimated timeline? Is there anyway to know how long it might take? Will a modem be provided? If so, are the modems new enough and adequate to process the full subscription speeds? I don't know a lot about these things, but I'm told it's a problem with our current provider and the biggest reason we don't get anywhere NEAR the speed we PAY for. Also, I'm reasonably confident the 250 Mps will serve our household just fine, but if we wanted to upgrade to 1 G, how much of an inconvenience would it be? Additional fees or such?
