Hi, Adam. We appreciate your suggestion! We will have Gibson Connect representatives at Gadsden's Community Day on Saturday, August 25. We will be answering questions and signing members up for service. We look forward to seeing you!
Adam Smallwood
Good morning, I have been emailing you guys about having a registration event in Gadsden, and can not seem to get a response. Can you help me out?

Hi, Tracie. I am unable to give you a time frame, but I can tell you that our splicing crews will be in the area to make service drops soon. Thank you for your support.
Tracie Claybrook
Noticed fiber cable ran to the poles in field in front of our house a looped on the poles of neighboring houses not 109 & 111 Esquire Peek Road. Is there a time frame when they will return?
Jenni RachelsCampaign Owner
Hi, Jeremy. Our contractors are currently working in Medina. They began at the substation and are working their way out. A Gibson Connect representative will call you to confirm your services and to schedule an in-home installation once a service drop has been made at your home. Thank you for your interest!

Hi, Phil and Sara. The Humboldt/Gibson zone is currently at 72 percent of its goal with only 135 needed registrations. You can view the progress at any time by clicking on the "Zones" tab above.

Terry, you are correct in that the ONT has 4 Ethernet ports and it can be configured to provide WiFi for the home. We will coordinate the location of the ONT in the home to centralize its position and/or to be near your existing wireless router if you choose to use your own. If necessary, our install technicians can run a Ethernet cable between rooms but there is a fee for that service. You may run your own wiring if you desire. The reach of our WiFi from our ONT has been very good but it does depend on several variables so it will be best to test it as part of the install to see if it meets your needs or if you want to use your own. We will engineer the service drop to your home depending on your specific conditions and will bore the driveway if necessary. The ONT has POTS ports and these can be connected directly to a phone or to your home telephone wiring. We will coordinate this with you as part of the install. We look forward to serving you!

Flora, we will contact you when we are ready to install your service. I'd coordinate disconnecting your current service with Gibson Connect's in-home installation. Thank you and we look forward to serving you!

Ken, we don't have an application that is active at this moment, but we're continuing to seek opportunities. We'll be making an application in the near future for another Tennessee Broadband Accessibility Grant. We're evaluating areas that are eligible for the grant based on the very stringent grant criteria. Yes, we can have more than one grant open at a time. Thanks so much for your interest!
Terry Tucker
So the ONT has 4 Ethernet ports. If I want to use my wireless router how hard will it be? Will install tech run a Cat5/6 to a point in home? Or will I have to run to ONT?
If we get the phone how will it hookup?
What is the estimated range of the home WiFi you may provide. My router gives me great coverage for all of 1 acre lot.
The power pole is on the other side of driveway. Underground power comes up in concrete. Will you bore under driveway?
How soon can Blackmon road expect service?
FLORA Claybrook
I notice that you say that you will begin to connect people early as next week. I was wondering, I live in the Media area and have gowispers and was wonder if I should pay for August month or will Gibson connect be up and running by the 10th of August. Thanks
Ken Morris
I was wondering about grant applications to help with the process of getting more of the zones taken care of. Are there presently grant applications in process for more zones and/or areas? If so curious as to which zones are targeted. Was also wondering if you can have an "open" grant (such as the Ridgely/Tiptonville/Samburg grant) and still apply for others?

Good morning, Jeff. Service Electric is helping us with make-ready work. They are preparing the poles for fiber installation.
Jenni RachelsCampaign Owner
Hi, Jeff. We will be able to run approximately 3-4 miles of fiber per day. In areas where the poles are located in planted fields, the contractor will use methods to minimize the crop damage. We are happy to say that we expect to begin connecting customers as early as next week! Thank you for your questions and for your support of Gibson Connect!

Donald, our Gig service is essentially symmetrical, however, there are always variables in the field and on a network that will cause small variations in the up and download speeds. Within the small variations, it is a symmetrical service offering.
Jeff Walters
With the contractors now in place and working. What are the estimates on the amount of fiber that can be ran in a day? I was also wondering about areas where the utility poles are in fields that currently have crops in them. What’s the plan for working around that? Last question ....when do you think the first customer connections will begin and where? Are we looking at a few weeks of a few months ? Sorry for all the questions I’m just excited!

We have cable looped on the pole in our front yard here on Esquire Peek. Is this cable for the Service Drop?

Will your gigabit service be symmetrical with both uploads and downloads at gigabit rates?
