Hi, Judy. We have not yet started construction in the Obion zone. It will be the last zone constructed as a part of the Phase II buildout, and it will be late fall when that takes place. We are actively constructing in four other zones at the present time, and we will have crews begin work in Hornbeak, followed by Obion, in the coming months. Please continue to be patient with us as we work to bring this service to all of our eligible members. We appreciate your support of Gibson Connect, and look forward to serving you, soon!

Hi, Scott. Our goal is to ultimately provide Gibson Connect services to all of our eligible members. We set up the zones based on our substations and our communities. We also considered the miles of line within the zone, the members per mile of line, and the connections. We used all of this information to arrive at the participation level we'd need to require for the fiber build-out to be financially feasible. We understand there is a great need for these services in many places and we are working as quickly as possible to provide it . To build a fiber network throughout our 12-county service area is a huge undertaking that will likely take another three years to complete, so we ask for your continued patience, and thank you for supporting Gibson Connect!

Have been signed up for 3 years. What happens if we can't reach the goal you have set? I think your goals are set to high.

Hi, Dennis. We are actively seeking and applying for grants and low-interest loans in an effort to hold down costs and provide broadband access in the most affordable way possible. Grants are only available in unserved or very under-served areas. The order of our buildout is being driven by our members through registrations on this site and by grant awards. The exception is that when we're building in an area partially covered by a grant, we build to the remainder of that zone. We do this because it makes the most sense from an engineering perspective. We've taken the member-driven and grant-based approach in an effort to be fair and cost-conscious. We are sorry that your area has not yet been served. We know there is a great need and we ultimately hope to make high-speed, fiber-based internet service available to members Rives and all other eligible members. Thank you for supporting Gibson Connect!

You keep getting grants for places that have a choice for their TV and internet but you never help the places that have no choice.. We have to pay over $260 a month for TV, internet and phone and the service is not that great.. When are you going to help us in Rives?

Hi, Tim. We are glad that you have seen crews working, and you should continue to see them for the next few months. We have guys working on placing mainline fiber throughout the zone, as well as starting to place service drops. We expect to begin splicing service drops in the next few days, and that will make way for connections to start in the coming weeks. It will take a little time to complete the zone, so we appreciate your continued patience as we work quickly to bring this much-needed service to the Gadsden Community. Thank your for your support of Gibson Connect!

Hi, Tim. I apologize for the delay in responding; it did not show a new message alert. I have taken a look at your address and I see that your service drop has been completed, but the splicing is not yet complete. It will most likely not be connected by the 3rd, at least not July 3rd. We do not have a specific timeframe for splicing at individual homes at this time, as we have a couple of crews still working to complete the main line fiber splicing. This will have to be completed prior to splicing in at the individual level. We anticipate to begin connections in the next few weeks. Thank you for your continued support!

Hello. The Gibson Connect men came by out house last week and was ready to connect wiring. However noone has come out to trim the trees. A Rep. came by a few months ago and said someone would be coming to trim. Do you know when the trimmers will be coming so the wiring people can also come back. I am really anxious to get connected. I am really tired of the slow satellite internet I have now. Thank you. Carla Williams

Carla, will you call us at 731.562.6000 and ask to speak with Sarah Williams? We are trying to ensure that we have the correct address and information for you before providing you with an update. Thank you!

Hi, Carla. We apologize for the delay in getting back with you. I have reached out to our Manager of Outside Plant to see if she can give some insight to your question, and will provide that to you, soon. We have right-of-way trimming that is going on in several different areas, and the weather over the last couple of months has had a significant impact in getting it completed. I will try to have a more specific answer regarding your service address shortly.

What zones will be included in the Phase III buildout and when will Phase III be taken to the board for approval?

Hi, Rebecca. The Rutherford zone has now reached its participation goal, however we do not yet have projected timelines for the zones in Phase III. We are in the midst of our Phase II buildout, and have crews working in four different zones across our service territory at this time. Due to the extremely wet winter we experienced, it put us behind in a couple of areas, but we are working as quickly as we can to bring this service to all of our members. We will take the zones for Phase III to our Board of Trustees to be voted on and approved, and we will communicate updates to members via the email used at registration. We appreciate your support of Gibson Connect, and look forward to serving you and the Rutherford community, soon!

Rutherford is in the "Goal Accomplished" stage, so (estimated) how long should it be before we can get it?

Okay so we’ve received underground cables and they are connected to our house. How long will it take for people to reach out to us and install a router in our home? I’m sorry but I’m just slightly anxious for this internet.

Hi, Carla. We have three crews working in the Gadsden area running the main line fiber; they will be doing this over the next few weeks. There will be crews coming in behind them that will begin service drops to individual homes, and then the splicing will take place. You will begin to see more activity in the coming weeks, including seeing more trucks and wire. We will keep members updated at www.gibsonconnect.com and on our Gibson Connect Facebook page. Thank you for your support of Gibson Connect!

Hi, Star. We have a few different crews that are working along the Bradford Highway, currently. There are still several service drops that are in the process of being placed, and we have splicing crews coming in behind to complete this next step. We do not have a specific timeframe for individual installs as of right now, but we have people working diligently to complete this area, and others in the Trenton North zone, as quickly as possible. Please continue to be patient with us as we work to bring this service to all of our members. We appreciate your support of Gibson Connect, and look forward to serving you, soon!

Hi, Wanda. If you are referring to the in-home installation, our installers allot two hours to give them plenty of time. It does not always take a full two hours to complete, but we want to make sure there are no issues, and they have enough time to give answer any questions that you may have. We appreciate your support and look forward to connecting you!

Hi, Rodney. At this time, there are no specific arrangements for the South Fulton zone. Regarding the ReConnect funds, they are not in the form of a grant. Rather, they are low-interest loan funds from the USDA to help us more affordably provide broadband access to certain areas. The ReConnect loan funds will help us to build the entire fiber network and we're into year two of what we expect to be a five-year buildout. Our members continue to drive the order of our buildout. We’re asking members to indicate their support by registering here at join.gibsonconnect.com. We are working diligently to provide this essential service and we look forward to serving you and our other members in South Fulton.

What is your timeline for construction in the South Fulton zone? I'm hoping that the grants funds that you recently received might speed things up over here.
