Can I have an update on our address? We have had our service drop and were told we are spliced, but I haven't been contacted about being connected. Thanks!

Hi, Amanda. I see that your service drop has not yet been completed, which is the next step. We have several crews working in the Gadsden area on different steps of the fiber buildout. I do not have an estimated timeframe on your individual connection at this time, but your service drop should be placed soon, followed by splicing of the fiber, and then connection. We appreciate your support of Gibson Connect and look forward to serving you!

Hi, Kristen. Once we have been notified that the splicing has been completed at your home, we will verify the light readings to make sure everything appears to be connected properly, and then one of our Gibson Connect team members will be calling you to schedule your installation. It should not be long before you are getting a call from us!

Woodland mills zone is as of now 5 sign-ups away from reaching goal. Approximately how long after reaching goal does build out and all take before we could expect to take advantage of the service?

Hi, Joshua. We plan to start Phase III with the Rutherford, Kenton and Newbern zones, but we expect to add more zones a little later, based on join.gibsonconnect.com registrations, as well as engineering and grant/loan requirements. With the Woodland Mills zone being well positioned to meet its goal soon, there is a good chance it will be included in the Phase III buildout. That decision will have to be approved by our Board of Trustees before anything firm is decided. We will continue to communicate to our members in this zone as updates become available. We understand this is a much-needed service and we are working to bring access to members as quickly as possible. Thank you for your continued support of Gibson Connect!

Hi, Macy. We have completed the engineering design, and have crews that have begun placing main line fiber in the Hornbeak zone. There are still several steps that will have to take place before connections begin, but barring any unforeseen issues, we anticipate connections to begin in the fall. We understand the need for this service and are working hard to provide it as quickly as we can. Thank you for your support of Gibson Connect!

Hi, This is Mark Newbill 1516 mag duffy. The cable was hit by the city where it goes to my underground service, and flattened and up till now had caused no issues, but this am the speed test was less than 15 with up of 4. its getting really slow compared to 80 when it was installed. sometimes it has no connectivity. I know this is on a work order already, but I wanted to escalate the priority now that service is becoming erratic.

Hi, Chris. Connections should begin within the next week in the area. Gibson EMC line crews finished the construction that was taking place on the Bradford Highway late last week, and the Trenton Light and Water Department was finishing up their part, as well. Gibson Connect crews and contractors will be working to finish running any remaining fiber, and splicing, and we will be connecting members as quickly as possible. There are several members in this area that are still awaiting connection, but we will be scheduling them and installing as quickly as we can. We look forward to serving you, soon!

Hi, Tim. I apologize for the delay in responding as I have been out of the office for a few days. I have checked your address and it has not yet been spliced. Crews are working as quickly as possible, and we anticipate connections to begin in the next couple of weeks. I do not have a specific timeframe on your home, but we will call you as soon as we have been notified that it is ready for installation. Thank you for your support of Gibson Connect!

Hi, Sarah Williams Well...I had $87.65 withdrawn from my bank for "HUGHESNET" .... VERY bad ISP! I was hoping the 3rd crew was as close behind as the 2nd was to the 1st. I'm a VERY POSITIVE "FAITHFUL" person, I'm envisioning the coming week, I want to cancel get even a PARTIAL refund (which WOULD BE about the monthly fee for GIBSON CONNECT). BOOM PAY HLF price3 for GREAT FIBER OPTIC service..."yes"?

Hi, Kristen. Crews in the Gadsden zone have progressed significantly in the last several weeks, and we anticipate to see connections beginning within the next week in the area. For your address specifically, I do not have a timeline or timeframe that we can provide you for your installation at this point. The crews are continuing to work on placing service drops, and yours is showing under construction, but not completed. You have an underground service, and due to the very large amounts of rain we have seen in the last two days, that could slow the completion of the drop just a little bit. Once your service drop has been completed, we still have to splice the fiber to get it ready for connection to the home. We understand this is a service that many members are in need of, and we are working as quickly as possible to provide it. Unexpected delays, such as the weather, continually play a role in our ability to construct a zone. We appreciate your support of Gibson Connect, and look forward to serving you, soon!

Hi, Richard. We anticipate to begin connections throughout this area in the next 4-5 weeks. Our Gibson EMC line crews are working to construct and change out a line on the Bradford Highway that Clarence Campbell Road and several others in the Trenton North zone feed off of. The fiber crews cannot complete the remaining work in this area until the electric construction is completed. We understand this is a service that many of our members need, and we are working as quickly as we can to provide it. Please continue to be patient with us as we work to build the fiber network. We appreciate your support of Gibson Connect, and look forward to serving you, soon.

Good morning, Bill. Newbern is part of Phase III. We’re continuing to use a combination approach that is member-, ReConnect loan- and grant-driven to determine the order of our buildout. The Obion zone will be built before the Newbern zone because we applied for and received a grant for the Obion area; and the grant has time limits that we must meet. Of the zones that reached their participation goals, we’ll be building these in the order the goals were met - first Rutherford, next Kenton and then Newbern. We will include additional zones in our Phase III buildout and plan to communicate details soon. We are applying for and incorporating grants/loans that include time requirements in order to keep construction costs as low as possible and provide this essential service more affordably to you and our other members. At this time, we expect that work will be completed for Newbern in 2021. As we know more about timing we’ll provide updates. Thank you for your patience and for supporting Gibson Connect, Bill!

Rita Alexander, On May 23 I asked what zones would be included in the Phase 3 buildout. You replied " We'll know more about Phase III after the FCC meeting on June 9 and we will share that information with you then." Do you have an update for us in the Newbern zone? Also, someone from the Obion zone asked on June 22 how long it would be until they got service. The response she got was "We have not yet started construction in the Obion zone. It will be the last zone constructed as a part of the Phase II buildout, and it will be late fall when that takes place. We are actively constructing in four other zones at the present time, and we will have crews begin work in Hornbeak, followed by Obion, in the coming months." So if Obion is going to last zone in Phase 2, where does that leave Newbern? I could be mistaken, but I believe Newbern accomplished its goal before Obion. If you are not constructing in the order the zones accomplished their goals, what was the point in having all the zones competing against each other???
